Goal: 10,000 Votes
This December, I pledge to #VoteLibraries because I believe that after years of public sector austerity, the time for investment in our public services is now. I understand that everyone who runs for office has an impact on the funding decisions made for libraries and that the social and economic return on investment in libraries is huge. My vote matters to me, to my community and to future generations of U.K. residents.
I pledge to #VoteLibraries because:
- A vote for libraries is a vote for my community.
- A vote for libraries is a vote for education.
- A vote for libraries is a vote that supports local businesses and entrepreneurs.
- A vote for libraries is a vote for economic growth.
- A vote for libraries is a vote to support health, wellbeing and social care.
- A vote for libraries is a vote help combat poverty, loneliness and social isolation.
- Libraries transcend political parties and politics. They are open and free for all.
- And I believe we need a government that recognises and supports this.
