I am a great believer in good quality local services the ‘glue’ that helps create great communities. Libraries are an essential part of that ‘glue’.

libraries are so important! Older people use them for access to lots of books that they wouldn’t be able to afford to buy and a trip to the library is a nice social event for lonely people. Services to encourage children to read and engage in the educational activities are a very important part of a child’s development and prepares younger children for school. The library is a central hub in the community and provides somewhere for people and groups to meet

Public libraries are good for society, taking on essential roles in ensuring access to information and digital inclusion for all members of their communities.
